St Paul the Anchorite and St Antony the Great

St. Paul of Thebes was the first Christian hermit who fled to the desert during the persecution of Christians, living a life of solitude, prayer, and communion with God for over 90 years, setting an example of extreme asceticism. St. Antony the Great, known as the Father of Monasticism, was a hermit who renounced worldly possessions to live a life of prayer and asceticism in the desert.
